FIBC Bags / Bulk Bags

The bulk bag also known as Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container (FIBC) or jumbo bag, is economical and ideal packing used for the storage & transportation of powdered, granulated or bulk products. FIBC bags are manufactured with polypropylene woven fabrics that are stabilized against UV degradation. Each bulk bag can contain load capacities between 500kgs to 2000kgs with the safety of 5:1 or 6:1 (5:1 is for Single use & 6:1 is for multiple uses or for UN bags), depending on the bag design and size. An optional LDPE inner liner can be included to provide additional protection against moisture ingress.

Currently, industries that are using bulk bags are:-

  • Petrochemical & chemical products manufacturers
  • Food manufacturers (e.g. sugar, flour, spices, wheat, milk powder)
  • Construction-related (e.g. cement, granite, sand)
  • Agricultural-related products (e.g. fertilizers, animal feed, grass).
  • Industrial applications (e.g. scrap materials, copper coils & slag, sludge waste)

FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) bags, also known as bulk bags or jumbo bags, are large industrial containers used for the storage and transportation of dry bulk materials such as sand, fertilizer, grains, and chemicals. Here are some additional pieces of information about FIBC bags:

  1. Types of FIBC bags: There are various types of FIBC bags available in the market, including type A, B, C, and D. Each type is designed to handle different types of materials and has specific safety requirements.
  2. Capacity: FIBC bags can hold a capacity of 500 kg to 2000 kg depending on the size and type of bag.
  3. Construction: FIBC bags are typically made of woven polypropylene or polyethylene fabric, which is flexible, strong, and UV resistant. The bags can be coated or uncoated, and the fabric can be laminated or non-laminated.
  4. Design: FIBC bags are designed to be lifted by forklifts, cranes, or hoists, and can be filled and discharged using gravity or mechanical devices. They can also have various closure options, including a spout, a duffel top, or a skirt.
  5. Advantages: FIBC bags offer several advantages over traditional packaging options, such as reducing packaging waste, increasing storage and transportation efficiency, and improving handling and safety.
  6. Safety considerations: It is important to follow safety guidelines when handling FIBC bags, including inspecting the bag for damage, storing the bags on a flat surface, and avoiding overloading or exceeding the bag’s capacity.
  7. Recycling and disposal: FIBC bags can be recycled or reused, and it is important to dispose of them properly to prevent environmental pollution.

Overall, FIBC bags are a versatile and efficient solution for bulk material handling and transportation in various industries.
